What accessories are important?
Now that you have your camera you may look into buying relatively cheap accessories in order to maximize your photo taking experience and also potentially gain better results from your photos. For starters, you should always have two batteries! You don’t want to be stuck in the middle of your vacation taking beautiful pictures on a paid tour and realize you forgot to charge your batteries the night before. A second memory card can also be beneficial in emergency situations. Depending on what kind of photography you will be doing, several different accessories are available. For night photography you will most definitely need a tripod. This will ensure your photos stay in focus while avoiding camera shake. For more advanced cameras, DSLR’s specifically, a variety of lens with different focal lengths are available. Wide angle lens will give you greater perspective at a closer distance to your subject and a telephoto lens will dramatically increase your zoom capabilities. Filters are also something that can add another element to your photos. The most popular one and maybe most important is the Polarizer filter. This will reduce glare when shooting subjects on water or in reflections. It will also create a greater contrast between the sky and clouds when shooting upwards. A variety of different filters are available for different causes, don’t be afraid to experiment.
TRIPOD
A sturdy tripod will ensure quality and balanced photos. Don’t be afraid to spend a little more money on these as they usually last for several years.

Lenses
This is where things get expensive. At times your lens can cost more then your actual camera! If you are looking to buy another lens for your DLSR then a telephoto or a wide angle lens will usually be your best bet. These lenses will give you the opportunity to get upclose to your subject or stay away at a further distance.Price: $1000-$3000
Filters
These accessories can alter your images in a variety of different ways. Coloured lens can give your images a desired tint of colour, and clear filters can sharpen your images dramatically. The two most popular ones are polarizer (reduces glare and improves contrast) and Ultra-Violet (reduces harmful UV rays to your images which can cause a undesired grainy look).
